These are crucial days for Ukraine. Trump has effectively made his deal with Putin, and it’s not about peace—it’s about surrender. The terms are already clear: no NATO membership for Ukraine, recognition of Russia’s hold on Crimea, and acceptance that much of the occupied territories will remain under Moscow’s control. This isn’t a negotiated settlement; it’s coercion disguised as diplomacy. It gives the Kremlin exactly what it wants now—and positions it to take the rest later, whether through force or slow erosion, once sanctions are lifted and attention fades.
Trump has never supported Zelensky. He still falsely blames Ukraine for starting the war, revealing just how little he cares about the reality on the ground. His vision of the world is simple: great powers take what they want, and smaller nations are expected to accept it—or get paid off to stay quiet. Europe could stop this. It has the leverage, the history, and the responsibility. But stopping it would require unity and resolve. Right now, it’s not clear it has either.
